Untitled Pollen-Seed Weaving, 2025
Handwoven silver thread coated with what I thought was pollen but was in fact cottonwood seeds
72x50’’

The documentation is from a tentative installation presented during the Open Studio at my Deer Lake Residency at the Burnaby Art Gallery.

This work was influenced by a variety of events and materials with symbolic charge - silver thread and what I’ve referred to as “pollen” (which is actually cottonwood seeds). The work explores these events and influences in an associative, fragmented form: womanhood versus femininity, love, the Lacanian not-all, fragmentation towards or untowards cohesion, erotic rage, recurring dreams of urinating and ejaculating in men’s washrooms.
